Westwind Lottery

Most years more people want to attend Westwind than there are spots. This means that we need to have a lottery to fairly determine who can attend.

Lottery Process

The 2024 Lottery is now closed! 

Only one name is required to register for the lottery. You will be asked to provide your weekend preference and the number of spots you need for your family.

  1. We use an online tool to gather registration information from anyone interested in attending a Westwind weekend. Note: Add only ONE lottery registration to your cart!
  2. We export the registrations to a spreadsheet and use a random number generator to rank the order of all the responses.
  3. We take a pass at filling spots based on weekend and preference. (We hold spots for interns, onsite hosts and the coordination team.)
    • We try to place families with younger kids closer to the main lodge, if possible.
    • We try to place families of kids in the same grade together, if possible.

Note: There is no fee to register for the lottery, however, a current $40 annual Oya No Kai family membership is required to register for the weekend. Save time and sign up for a membership now!

Registration Process

  1. Once assignments have been made, we will email families with a direct registration link. If we don’t have enough spots to accommodate everyone, some families may be placed on a waitlist based on their place in the randomized list.
  2. Families will have one week to claim their spots by putting down a $50 deposit per person (or paying in full). If a family doesn’t claim their spot within that week, they may lose their place to the next family on the waitlist. Note: at this stage, you must add a registration for EACH family member who will attend!

Note: In the past we’ve tried to accommodate requests for cabin mates, but in order to balance the numbers and keep the camp at full capacity, we can no longer take requests.

Deposit Required

$50 per person non-refundable deposit is required for each reservation spot.

Membership Required

A $40/family Oya No Kai membership is required to attend a Westwind weekend.

Cancellation Policy

  • If we can fill your spot, you will receive a refund minus the non-refundable deposit.
  • If we can’t fill your spot, no refund will be issued.
