Camp Westwind – Service Weekend

Oya No Kai friends of Camp Westwind!

Please come join us November 18-20 for Oya No Kai’s 2016 Stewardship Weekend at Camp Westwind!

For the past 25 years, Camp Westwind has hosted Oya No Kai weekend retreats.  Here is a chance to GIVE BACK to a place that has given so much to us over that time.  Come spend a beautiful fall weekend at Camp Westwind performing service projects to maintain and improve the camp.

All members of the Oya No Kai community are welcome!  While there will be some heavy work to do, we also plan projects that families can do together.  Take this opportunity to show your children the rewards of working together to help a worthy cause.  (Westwind’s experience with other service work weekends has been that children 7 and older are best able to participate and appreciate the service aspect of this event.  Every child must have a parent or guardian coming along with them.)

How do I sign up?

To sign up for the service weekend fill out our REGISTRATION FORM

How much will it cost?

To cover the cost of food service, there is a requested $50 donation per participant.  Westwind does not charge any rental fee for our occupying the camp for the weekend.  We won’t be doing our own meal prep, but will help out with cleanup afterwards.

When will we arrive and depart?

Details will be coming on this.  We anticipate having some of the group arrive on Friday, and the remainder on Saturday morning.  We’ll return to Portland on Sunday in the late afternoon or evening.

Do I need any special skills?

There will be work for all skill levels.  If you DO have skills in building and construction, there may be specific projects that need your expertise.  There will be space on the registration form to let us know about this.

Will there be social time?

Yes, the evenings will be spent together in the Lodge sharing games, music, laughter and fellowship.  Please bring along anything that you would like to share!
